IDEALOGICAL SENSES OF TARAS SHEVCHENK'S POEM “DREAM”

Abstract

In this article the social and political ideas of Taras Shevshenko that declared in the poem “Son” are investigated. The specific of democracy and nationality in the outlook of the author is analyzed. The phenomenon “shevchenkizm” is underlined.

The poem “Son” is a special idea manifest of artistic heritage of Taras Shevchenko. In this text we observe the author artistic interpretation of that historical situation. The historical role of Ukraine, its mission in European context are represented. Thinking about political and philosophical problems poet represent its as artistic categories. He interpret the social life in the artistic space. 

The nationalism of Taras Shevchenko is nationalism of a special type. It is based on the respect to every nation, on the recognition of its right to have own independent state. In this way Shevchenko think according to European democracy of that time. The idea of natural right for every nation to have own state was very popular and general in that political and social process. In general historical poems of Taras Shevchenko motivated national feeling of Ukrainian people, activated Ukrainian patriotic outlook. Taras Shevchenko understood the sense of Ukrainian history. Through history he determined political and social aim for Ukrainian nation.
