Complaints policy

For any questions or complaints regarding ethical violations related to publication in "Shevchenko Studies", please contact the All-Ukrainian Educational and Scientific Center of Shevchenko Studies (Editorial Office) by e-mail shevchenko.center@gmail.com. It is important to note that the Editorial Office does not intervene or comment on decisions made by the collection.

Within 5 business days, the Editorial Office reviews the request sent by e-mail to shevchenko.center@gmail.com. The Editorial Office analyzes the received complaint in accordance with the COPE guidelines, assessing whether the appropriate procedures were followed. The Editorial Office reviews the submission history, correspondence between the author(s), the responsible editor, the editor-in-chief, and the reviewers, and may contact the relevant parties for additional information.

The author(s) will receive written confirmation of the results of the complaint review. The journal aims to resolve issues expeditiously within six weeks, although some cases may take longer depending on the nature of the issue, the involvement of multiple author(s) or papers, and interactions with the author's institution or external parties.

In the interests of a fair process and impartial review, the editorial office asks that those raising issues or complaints be allowed to complete the process before making public comments on the matter.

Complaints about publications

All complaints about published content in the journal are treated confidentially in accordance with the COPE guidelines, regardless of their status or identification. In many cases, an internal review is conducted to determine whether a full review is necessary. The review of published content in the journal is conducted jointly with the author and the journal. The editorial office may engage third parties, such as independent experts, the author(s)' institutions, or funding bodies, in compliance with GDPR regulations.

The "Shevchenko Studies" collection strives to maintain the anonymity of the complainant as much as possible, understanding that some complaints may reveal the person who filed the complaint regarding the violation of ethical norms. After completing the review of the complaint and determining the appropriate measures, the Editorial Office will provide reports to all complainants.
