TARAS SHEVCHENKO IN THE LITERARY AND AESTHET RECEPTION OF VASYL SIMOVYCH

Abstract

The article analyzes the views of Shevchenko studies by Vasyl Simovych. It was found out that in Ukrainian Shevchenko studies of the 20th century researches and publications of V. Simovych occupy an important place as works that popularized Shevchenko's work for a wide range of readers; these studies also touched on secrets of Shevchenko's poetic work.

The work of T. Shevchenko was a guide for V. Simovych throughout his life, and the biography taken into account in the study is not the only work of a researcher in the field of Shevchenko studies, because we have numerous prefaces to individual editions of T. Shevchenko's works, newspaper and magazine publications, which remain relevant to this day. They guide our contemporary, protecting us from all layers.

The article states that the main conclusion of the researcher Simovych sounds particularly relevant today: Shevchenko's civic and artistic duty is a returning point in our whole national life , because Shevchenko is a poet and a citizen who made us a people and conscious citizens.

And that is why the scientist researched Shevchenko's poetic heritage so much and carefully, so that there would not be a single person among us who would not know his life. Attention is focused on the opinion of the researcher, that only when we really conscientiously and thoughtfully read Shevchenko, cognize, understand and remember his immortal testaments, we will actually become people, we will actually become Ukrainians, we will actually become nation.

In general, V. Simovych's research on Shevchenko developed in the following main directions:

- the fate of the poet and his outlook, soul;

- general development of creativity in its chronological, genre and text dimension;

- themes, motives, problems, ideological content of the works;

- the artistic originality of the creative manifestations of Shevchenko’s talent (not much has been done in this regard);

- the role and significance of Shevchenko for the fate of the nation.

- awareness of Shevchenko's greatness

In such defining aspects deployed V. Simovych's literary and aesthetic reflections about T. Shevchenko's personality, fate, and creative heritage. Therefore, we can argue that V. Simovych is one of the founders of modern Shevchenko studies.
