Parabolicity of Taras Shevchenko's Prose. The Epic Structure of The Story "The Artist"

Abstract

The article analyzes Shevchenko's novel "The Artist" from the point of view of the embodiment of the parabola in its structure as a productive form of artistic generalization. The role and functions of the autobiographical component of the narrative tool of the work, the way of revealing the author's emotions and experiences, and the subjective nature of the text are highlighted. The connections between Shevchenko's real biography and the vicissitudes and milestones of the protagonist's life reproduced in the text of the novel are traced. The theoretical concepts of Oleksandr Potebnya and Leonid Biletsky became the methodological basis of the research.
